Both the DJI RS 3 Pro and RS 4 Pro are rated to a 10 lb (4.5 kg) tested payload. That covers a Sony FX3 or FX6 with a Vespid 2 prime, a RED Komodo-X with a small zoom, or a Canon C70 with the RF 24-105. How long does it take to balance a gimbal on set?

An experienced operator balances the RS 3 Pro or RS 4 Pro in 5 to 10 minutes per camera and lens combo. Both gimbals have automated axis locks, fine-tuning knobs on the tilt axis, and OLED touchscreens to confirm calibration. If you swap lenses on the same body, expect 2 to 3 minutes per swap. Plan a 15 minute buffer at the front of the shoot day for first balance.

How long do the batteries last on a shoot day?

DJI rates the RS 4 Pro at up to 13 hours of operation on a full charge, and the RS 3 Pro at roughly 12 hours. In practice, with active tracking, focus pulls, and frequent mode switches, expect 6 to 8 hours of real-world use per charge. Do you need a Certificate of Insurance for gimbal rentals?

Standard DJI RS 3 Pro and RS 4 Pro orders book on a credit card hold. Larger packages (Easyrig Vario 5 plus DJI gimbal plus Tilta Hydra car mount) require a Certificate of Insurance naming Viva Media as additional insured. We will request the COI at the booking step if needed and walk you through the process.
