The Pocket 3 is the proven 4K 120p gimbal cam with a 1-inch sensor and ships with DJI Mic 2 at $65/day. The Pocket 4 is the newer body at $80/day with the same 1-inch sensor, a 240-minute battery, 107GB internal storage, DJI Mic 3, and a clip-on LED. Pick the Pocket 3 if you want the lower day rate and proven workflow. Pick the Pocket 4 when you need the longer battery, internal storage, and the newer mic for vlog or interview days.
DJI Osmo Action 6 vs Insta360 X5 for POV?
The Action 6 is your fixed-FOV helmet, chest, bike, or vehicle cam. 4K 120p, HorizonSteady electronic stabilization, and a 38MP 1/1.1-inch sensor with 13.5 stops of dynamic range. The Insta360 X5 captures 8K 30p 360 with both lenses, so you reframe in post to pick any angle from a single take. Pick the Action 6 when you know your framing on the day. What magnetic mount accessories ship with the action cam kits?

Do these action cameras shoot in a log or D-Log M color profile?
The Osmo Pocket 3 and Pocket 4 record in D-Log M, a 10-bit log gamma profile that matches the rest of the DJI cinema lineup so footage cuts together with Ronin 4D, Inspire, and Mavic Pro plates. The Osmo Action 6 records D-Log M plus a flat profile for color grading. The Insta360 X5 records I-Log for 360 grading. All four bodies hand off cleanly to a Resolve or Premiere LUT pipeline alongside an FX3, Komodo-X, or V-Raptor master.
Are these action cameras waterproof for surf, snow, or watersports?
Yes, with limits. The Osmo Action 6 is rated IP68 waterproof to 65.6ft (20m) bare body without a dive case, which covers surf, snorkel, kayak, and most watersports. The Insta360 X5 is rated waterproof to 49ft (15m) for pool, splash, and shallow water. The Osmo Pocket 3 and Pocket 4 are not rated waterproof and need a third-party housing for any water use. Plan the rig around the body before the shoot, not on the dock.
