The Aputure Storm 1200x flagship plus the Storm series (700x, 400x, 80c) and the standalone Aputure Storm 80c RGB and Amaran 200x point-source. From the 96,100 lux 1200x for broadcast and exterior bounces down to the 80W 80c on a Mini ProLock Bowens mount, every fixture is a true point-source COB ready for Bowens accessories: dome, octa, fresnel, lantern, projection.

Compact, Mid, Broadcast: One Family of Bowens-Mount Glass
Every fixture in this list is a point-source COB on a Bowens (or Mini ProLock Bowens) mount, so your dome, octa, fresnel, snoot, and projection accessories all swap between bodies. Build a 1200x bounce key and a Storm 80c hair light from the same softbox grip kit. CRMX and Sidus-app control across the Storm series for wireless dim and CCT shifts from the floor.

- Run-and-gun doc lighting: Storm 400x V-mount, IP65 in case it rains, no power cable to babysit
- Color / music video: Storm 80c 3-kit RGB on grids, RGB only no white wash
What COB lights do well (vs panels)
- Point-source character: hard shadows, defined falloff, real specular highlights
- Bowens accessories shape the light: dome for soft, fresnel for cut, projection for gobos
- Throw distance: 1200x and 700x reach across a warehouse; panels can't compete past 10ft
- Color shift via gels in front of one source, not 600 LEDs averaging out
- Pick a panel (Nova II, Infinibar) for soft wraparound from a fixed position. Pick COB everywhere else
