Lux at distance is the spec that actually predicts throw on set: a 1200x at 3.3ft on a raw reflector reads 96,100 lux, the same fixture in a 7ft Para drops by orders of magnitude but reads beautifully soft. Color-tunable bi-color (Storm 1200x, 700x, 400x) covers 2500K to 10,000K white with CRI Ra95+ and TLCI 95 for skin-accurate broadcast and commercial keys. RGBWW (Storm 80c, 80c RGB) adds 1800-20,000K and the full saturated gamut for color work. Storm 400x and 80c run off V-mount or AC; 1200x and 700x are AC-only at full power.

Storm 1200x is the broadcast key and exterior bounce fixture (96,100 lux at 3.3ft with reflector). Storm 700x sits in the mid-tier for commercial keys. Storm 400x is the workhorse interior key, IP65 weather-rated, runs on V-mount or AC. Storm 80c (or the 3-light kit) covers color work and tight hair-light positions on a Mini ProLock Bowens mount. Do my Bowens accessories work across the Storm series?

Yes. Every Storm fixture is a point-source COB on a Bowens mount (the 80c uses a Mini ProLock Bowens variant), so dome, octa, fresnel, snoot, lantern, and projection accessories swap between bodies. Build a 1200x bounce key and a Storm 80c hair light from the same softbox grip kit.

Can I run the Storm fixtures off battery, or do I need AC?

Storm 400x and 80c run off V-mount batteries or AC mains. Storm 1200x and 700x are AC-only at full power and benefit from a dedicated 20A circuit on a long bounce day. Add V-mount packs at the booking step if you need run-and-gun mobility.

What's the difference between color-tunable white and RGBWW on these fixtures?

The Storm 1200x, 700x, and 400x are color-tunable bi-color white from 2500K to 10,000K with CRI 95 and TLCI 95 for skin-accurate keys. The Storm 80c and 80c RGB add full RGBWW gamut (1800K to 20,000K plus saturated color) for music-video, fashion, and narrative looks where you want gels handled inside the fixture instead of in front of it.

When should I pick a hard modifier vs a soft modifier?

Hard modifiers (fresnel, projection, raw reflector) keep the COB's point-source character so you get defined shadow edges, real specular highlights, and tight beam control. Soft modifiers (dome, octa, lantern) wrap the source for skin softening and beauty work. The same Storm body covers both because the Bowens mount handles every accessory in the kit.

Do you deliver lighting outside Toronto?

Yes. We deliver Aputure COB fixtures across the GTA for an additional fee. You'll get a delivery quote at the booking step based on your shoot location, and the delivery covers grip cases, stands, and modifiers if you've added them.
